Out of My Mind

Out of My Mind - Sharon M. Draper Melody’s story is a great one. I have a soft spot in my heart for stories like this one. She is constantly having to fight to be treated like everyone else. While the story was good, it was also a bit predictable. There’s the typical drama that goes hand in hand with school: snotty popular kids, kids being kids, kids being very bratty. I loved how Melody was finally able to get a voice but I found her voice to be a bit weird. It didn’t sound like a kid. It sounded an adult trying to sound like a kid and a bit forced. The bottom line? I liked it well enough. Could have been better if it was a little less predictable.
